Pamoja na kuongezeka kwa watumiaji wa huduma za Blackberry Afrika, hivi karibuni huko mashariki ya kati wamesitisha baadhi ya matumizi ya huduma za simu hiyo kutokana na sababu za kiusalama.

Kwa mujibu wa gazeti la Reuters, habari zinasema kuwa huduma kama za email, messenger, na Web browser zimefungwa toka October 11 mwaka jana baada ya watumiaji kulalamika kuwa hazina usiri tena.Taarifa toka kamisheni ya mawasiliano nchini Saudi Arabia zinaeleza.

Lakini maafisa wa Kampuni ya Apple wamekanusha vikali taarifa hizo huku wakisema ni hayo masuala ya kimtandao tu, na siyo simu zao.

Despite of increasing number of users for smart phone in Africa, recently it has been told that Certain BlackBerry services allow users to act without any legal accountability, causing judicial, social and national security concerns, the United Arab Emirates' Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) said in a statement.

The UAE said it would suspend BlackBerry Messenger, email and Web browser services from October 11 until a fix was found, while industry sources said Saudi Arabia had ordered local telecom companies to freeze Messenger this month.

According to Reuter’s new paper it has been said that there is security fraud concerning Blackberry that lead to exposure of personal information in public. Failure of data encryption and default IM of this smart phone is crucial headache issues to RIM officials.

So should the same be done in Tanzania?
